Hanworth, Bracknell

The Iron Age hill fort of Caesar's Camp is basically at Hanworth, although it has been transferred to the parish of Crowthorne.

Hanworth, Norfolk

Hanging over the chancel arch there are the royal arms of Queen Anne (1702–1714) and were adopted by the crown after the union of England and Scotland in 1707.

In the 1860s, Hanworth was a thriving community of about 230 people, and several artists (including Humphry Repton and John Sell Cotman) came to paint it.


A316 road

On 6 October 1997, the A316 in Hanworth was the scene of one of the earliest recorded road rage incidents in Britain when Toby Exley, a chef from Teddington, and his partner Karen Martin, from Twickenham, both died when their car, a Ford Fiesta, collided with the central reservation after being hit by a speeding Vauxhall Senator which drove away.

Kempton Park, Surrey

In 1594 the Crown leased the park with the manor and in 1631 the reversion of the freehold was granted with that of the manor to Robert Killigrew, whose father held an 80-year lease of the manor with Hanworth from 1594.
