With the appointment of the new PBNJ chairman, Tunku Mahkota of Johor (Crown Prince) Tunku Ismail Idris, Azmi Mohamed was put back as Johor FA head coach whilst Fandi Ahmad was left in-charge for the Johor club.
The competition helped bring the likes of Fandi Ahmad and Dollah Kassim, with the former being the only Singaporean to have played for European clubs – he played for FC Groningen and OFI Crete.
He served as the Director of Football at Tampines Rovers, and currently is the assistant head coach for the LionsXII team, appointed on 16 December 2013 to assist his former teammate in Singapore and the current LionsXII head coach Fandi Ahmad.
