In May 2004 he graduated from Munich’s Musikhochschule as conducting student of Bruno Weil and shortly afterwards was appointed Music Director of the Georgian Chamber Orchestra.

He is principal guest conductor of Tafelmusik, the period-instrument group based in Toronto, Music Director of the Carmel Bach Festival in California, and artistic director of the period-instrument festival "Klang und Raum" (Sound and Space) in Irsee, Bavaria.
When Salgo retired in 1991, Bruno Weil was named the Music Director and Conductor of the Carmel Bach Festival.
He has worked extensively with the German conductor Markus Stenz, as well as with Bruno Weil, Sir Charles Mackerras, Gustav Leonhardt, and Nikolaus Harnoncourt.
His recent cycle of Beethoven Piano concertos with Tafelmusik and Bruno Weil (Nos. 1 and 2: SK 68250; Nos. 3 and 4: SK 62824; No. 5: SK 63365) elicited praise for his stylistic sensitivity and his musical sensibility.
The choir has collaborated with conductors such as Bruno Weil, Leonard Bernstein and Oleg Caetani, with the Ballet of John Neumeier and with the Bayerisches Staatsorchester.
