Many major classical music recording artists like Trevor Pinnock, conductors Michael Tilson Thomas, Semyon Bychkov and viol consort Phantasm record for Avie, which has released more than 100 CDs since 2002.

It owes its modern revival to the conductor John Eliot Gardiner, who gave a concert version of the piece (in which Trevor Pinnock played continuo) at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, London, on 14 April 1974, for which he had prepared the orchestral material from the original manuscripts over the preceding year.
Since 2005, the label has gone on to release discs featuring artists such as Dame Felicity Lott, Imogen Cooper, Christine Brewer, Trevor Pinnock, Jonathan Biss, the Gould Piano Trio, the Doric, Arditti and Kopelman string quartets, the Nash Ensemble, the Academy of Ancient Music and the Early Opera Company.
