After Rockwood Lodge, the Packers moved their training camp to Grand Rapids, Minnesota from 1950 through 1953 and then Stevens Point, Wisconsin from 1954–57 before settling in at St. Norbert College in DePere, Wisconsin, where they train to this day.

The team currently uses college cheerleading squads, with the UWGB squad (coed) and St. Norbert's (all girl) cheering at each home game.
He graduated from Bear Creek High School and studied at St. Norbert College in De Pere and Sacred Heart Seminary in Oneida before earning his bachelor's and master's degrees from the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C.
