He was appointed assistant professor at the Norwegian National Academy of Craft and Art Industry from 1988 to 1994.

Bøe was president or chairman in Landsforbundet Norsk Brukskunst, Skandinavisk Museumsforbund, Norske kunst- og kulturhistoriske museer, Selskabet for Oslo Byes Vel and the Norwegian National Academy of Craft and Art Industry.
Tidemand-Johannessen received his artistic education at the Norwegian National Academy of Craft and Art Industry 1935–37 under Per Krohg, and made his debut at Høstutstillingen in Oslo in 1936.
He studied at the Norwegian National Academy of Craft and Art Industry with Torbjørn Alvsåker 1946-48 and the Norwegian National Academy of Fine Arts under Per Palle Storm from 1948 to 1951 as well as under Einar Utzon-Frank at the Art Academy in Copenhagen in 1951 and Ossip Zadkine at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière in Paris 1952.
He attended the Norwegian Military Academy from 1892 to 1893, the Royal School of Drawing from 1893 to 1894 and Harriet Backer's School from 1894 to 1895.
He took drawing and modeling classes first at the Royal School of Drawing in Christiania and then studied privately with sculptor Albert Wolff in Berlin.
She was born in Porsgrunn, and was educated at the Norwegian National Academy of Craft and Art Industry, in Copenhagen and Orrefors.
