The course is nearly three years long, and cadets graduate with a B.A. from Haifa University and an Officer rank of Lieutenant Junior Grade.
He joined the Armed Services and served from 1953 to 1955, becoming a lieutenant junior grade in the Naval Reserve.
Finally, officers ranked Lieutenant Junior Grade and Lieutenant, may be educated abroad (in Europe or in the USA) in schools such as NPS, MIT, the University of Michigan etc., thus becoming further specialized in fields such as electronics, weapon systems, computers, operation research, marine architecture etc.
Lieutenant Junior Grade Clarence Samuels, born on Bohio, Panama, enlisted in the Coast Guard on July 16, 1920 and became a naturalized citizen of the United States on July 21, 1923.
Following graduation he joined the U.S. Navy where he served as a Lieutenant Junior Grade aboard a minesweeper and also worked at NATO Headquarters Naples, Italy.
