In 1985, nonprofit organization Career Transition For Dancers, Inc. was established in New York City with money from Actors’ Equity Association, the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, American Guild of Musical Artists, and the Screen Actors Guild.
These unions are the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA), American Guild of Musical Artists (AGMA), American Guild of Variety Artists (AGVA), and Screen Actors Guild (SAG).
In 1969, Brand won the American Guild of Musical Artists Award, as well as first prize at the Société Musicale Ville-Marie competition.
