Swahili culture

Swahili culture is the product of the complex history of the coastal part of the African Great Lakes region, an area that has been influenced by Middle Eastern, Indian,Persian and Portuguese cultures.

The resolution called upon all armed groups in the Great Lakes region of Africa–including the Democratic Forces for the Liberation of Rwanda (FDLR), Palipehutu and Lord's Resistance Army–to immediately lay down their arms and participate in demobilisation programmes.

Johannes Hildebrandt

He gave his name to a number of species, including Encephalartos hildebrandtii, the Hildebrandt's Starling (Hildebrandt's Starling), and Hildebrandt's Francolin (Pternistis hildebrandti), the latter two which he discovered in Kenya in the African Great Lakes region.
